Buffalo Police officers arrive for the funeral of former Buffalo Police Officer Patricia Parete in Buffalo, N.Y., Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. Parete, was shot and paralyzed while on duty six years ago. She died last Saturday at her Niagara County home. Parete and another Buffalo police officer were shot in December 2006 after responding to a fight at a convenience store. One of the bullets hit Parete in the chin and lodged in her spine. The other officer also survived. The man who shot them, Varner Harris
