Another Health Setback for Kelly
Orchard Park, NY (WBEN) Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly has dealt with a lot over the years. Now, he's had a recurrence of cancer.
ECMC has issued a statement saying Kelly will undergo treatment. "Jim Kelly came to ECMC this week for continued testing related to his oral surgery. Unfortunately, it has been determined his cancer has returned," says Dr. Thom Loree in the statement. "Our team of head and neck cancer specialists is determing a course of treatment that will allow Mr. Kelly to battle this cancer successfully."
WGRZ-TV is reporting Kelly will head to New York City for treatment.
Last year, Kelly was diagnosed with Squamous-cell carcinoma (cancer) of the upper jaw bone. Two weeks after treatment, Kelly said he was cancer-free.
