Talk about embarrassing. In this weekend’s Amgen Tour of California 2014, a Spanish cyclist – Eloy Teruel – thought he had won one of the stages of the race. He raised his arms in victory as he crossed the finish line – but he still had one lap to go.
Which he realized when all the other racers whizzed past him. But the time he figured it out and started peddling again, 55 other racers were ahead of him.
Oops.That’s not going to be such a great endorsement for that bicycling school he was thinking about opening up back home.
