Bills Injury Report

The Bills will benefit from the Bye with a number of injuries coming off a loss to Houston. Head Coach Dick Jauron says that QB Trent Edwards will increase his workload through the week.

"We'll keep following that protocol for a head injury. Bud Adams and his staff refer to this as a transition week. He'll go from a little bit of work to full activity. There won't be that much activity because we're just so banged up. What we do do he'll increase more and then we'll look at it at the end of the week and decide where we'll go."

LB Keith Ellison (quad) and DE Aaron Schobel (groin) are both stiff and sore. Coach Jauron said that they'll be further evaluated throughout the week.
T Jamon Meredith left Sunday's loss with a knee sprain. Jairus Byrd also left the game. Coach Jauron wouldn't specify Byrd's injury but did say that the rookie was in Philadelphia on Monday for a scheduled visit to a specialist. Byrd suffered a sports hernia in the preseason and this visit was a check up on his progress.

TE Shawn Nelson is expected to be back practicing fully this week after battling the effects of a concussion last month. The Bills have to make a decision on whether WR James Hardy will return to the active roster by the end of the week. If Hardy is not added to the roster, he'll have to sit out the rest of the season. Coach Dick Jauron was optimistic Hardy would be in the fold.
"I think he's been doing fine. He's gaining more confidence every day. He's running routes out there against the defensive backs and competing. He really wants it."

Hardy thinks that, if he gets into the line-up, he can help.
"Each and every individual on this team has to do more. I just want to bring a positive attitude to it. Hopefully, after the Bye week, we can get on a roll."

The Bills visit the Titans in two weeks.
