The AAA reports the current average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas in the region is $3.72, down one more penny from the beginning of the week.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield, in collaboration with Kaleida Health, is shopping a new health insurance product called "align."  Similarly, Independent Health and Catholic Health Systems have a product called "The Choice Plus."  Both are designed to provide members with broader access to affiliated physicians and physician groups.

Global steel-maker ArcelorMittal SA suffered a first quarter net loss of $345 million dollars, compared to a $92 million profit for the same period a year ago.

Cleveland BioLabs reported a net loss of twenty-two cents per share for its first quarter.  The company lost fifteen cents per share for the same quarter last year.

The 2013 Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards were handed out at a noon luncheon yesterday.  Taking small business honors was Elbers Landscape Service; The A.J. Baynes Group won in the mid-sized business category, and the large business winner was Personal Touch Food Service.
