Concord Stand Off

BUFFALO, NY (WBEN) - Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Concord resident for Domestic charges after a stand off with Police on Friday night in Concord.

Sheriff’s Patrols responded to multiple 911 calls to a residence on Belcher Road concerning a man threatening family members with a shotgun.  Upon arriving at the scene, two female occupants in the house were evacuated from the scene by the Deputies and attempts to contact the male gunman were attempted.  The Sheriff’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team was summoned to the scene.  After a short amount of time, the male came out of the house and was taken into custody by the officers on location without further incident.  The shotgun was subsequently recovered from the house.  The male was arrested and charged with two counts of Menacing and taken to a local hospital for evaluation.  He will be arraigned in Concord Court on his charges at a later date.

Officers from the Springville Police Department and the New York State Police assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

Names are not being released at this point due to the domestic nature of the incident.
