Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The Erie County Republican Committee recently approved a resolution calling for the repeal of the NYSAFE Act, and is calling on GOP committees statewide to do the same.
"We support the second amendment, we support the right to bear arms, and we wholeheartedly reject Governor Cuomo's power grab," says Chairman Nick Langworthy. "We felt it was very important to stand up as Republicans and express this is a second amendment party."
Langworthy is asking fellow GOP chairman to approve similar resolutions. "I'd like to ask our state chairman for a meeting so we as a state Republican party can stand up and show voters the Republican party is the party that stands for the second amendment," says Langworthy.
He says the law is unenforceable, and with the tweaks already in place, shows NYSAFE is a bad law.
