(Clarence, NY) - Harris Hill Firefighters had a two-alarm blaze to battle early Sunday morning which they say caused a total of $450-thousand dollars in damage. A candle left burning in a garage is the apparent cause of the fire at 4089 Foxwood Lane in Clarence. Officials say the snow and the freezing temperatures were the reason extra companies from Main Transit and Bowmansville were called out along with East Amherst and Clarence Center.
The fire destroyed three cars in the garage and most of the two story home. The house is owned by Brian Karzak but rented to Rosanne Szymanski. Everyone got out of the structure unharmed. It took about 45 minutes to bring under control and one firefighter suffered a hand laceration. The house next door had about $4-thousand dollars worth of damage to it's siding.
