Here’s one you don’t hear every day. Over the weekend, in the middle of the U.S. Open golf tournament at Pinehurst 2, the golf cart driver for one of NBC’s roving golf analysts was arrested for – are you ready? – running over a North Carolina state trooper.
Okay, it wasn’t a serious accident. The caddy ran over the trooper’s foot. He added insult to injury by continuing along as if nothing had happened.
The trooper chased him down – I mean, he was driving a golf cart, right? – and had to jump on the cart and grab his shoulders and arms before the caddy realized something was going on.
The caddy was charged with four criminal counts. Authorities think he may have been under the influence of drugs. Either that, or he was lulled to sleep by working with a golf analyst.
