Buffalo, NY (WBEN Newsroom)  -- Here’s another Christmas present for us all. The AAA says the current cost for a gallon of unleaded gas is down to $1.90 in the region. A year ago the price was $1.38 higher.

 

M&T Bank will get $600 million dollars from the U.S. Treasury Department through the government’s Capital Purchase Program. In exchange for the funds, M&T gave the Treasury 600,000 shares of its preferred stock.

 

The integration of Tim Hortons outlets to all Tops Markets is complete. The restaurant chain has locations inside the Elmwood Avenue and Niagara Street Tops stores.

 

It’s truly the season for giving at Niagara University. The James H. Cummings Foundation awarded a $100,000 grant to NU toward construction of its new science center. In addition, the Teagle Foundation awarded a $281,000 grant to Niagara to develop methods for assessing community-based learning programs.
