How Bottled Water Companies Help in Emergencies

West Seneca, NY (WBEN) Toledo's water emergency prompted a number of bottled water companies to ramp up production. Western New York's Mayer Brothers was one of them.

"We do work with some retailers that were impacted by the emergency out there," says Ron Cummins of Mayer Brothers. He says there was some increased demand during the emergency but it was not significant once the emergency ended.

In the event something similar happened here, Cummins says it would be the same case, working with retailers. "We work pretty closely with retail partners in our area and they'll forward inventory in case of a disaster," says Cummins. "Certainly we would ramp up our production to provide as much as needed."

Cummins says it's more about a coordination of all companies to do what's in the best interest of those impacted.
