Jamestown Man Allegedly Critically Injures 6-month-old
(WBEN) -- A Southern Tier father is accused of critically injuring his baby.
Steven Spencer, 20, of Jamestown, is charged with reckless assault of a child and second-degree assault and is being held without bail.
There are different accounts of what happened according to police and family, friends and neighbors with the latter saying he tripped on a ball while holding the child outside causing his chin to hit the baby on the top of its head, while police say he allegedly shook and assaulted the baby.
The 6-month-old child is in critical condition at Women and Children's.
