Jeweler Admits to Selling Fake Diamonds

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Williamsville jeweler admits to selling phony gems to customers.

In court this morning, Paul Blarr pleaded guilty to 11 felonies. Blarr faces up to 50 years in prison on grand larceny and scheme to defraud.

Blarr was arrested in March and at the time police urged people who bought jewelry from him at RSNP Diamond Exchange to check to be sure it was authentic. Police say more than 100 people contacted detectives.

Sentencing is set for July 25th.
