Buffalo, NY (WBEN Newsroom)  -- If you’re looking to negotiate a July Fourth getaway, then Priceline.com’s 6th annual survey of the 50 most popular destinations for Independence Day might come in handy. The Buffalo/Niagara Falls area rated 33rd. New Orleans, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York City and Seattle were the top five.
 
Proving you can’t spell “doughnut” without the “dough,” Tim Hortons has topped the list of fast food restaurant chains in Canada. Tim Hortons boasted sales of $4.2 billion last year, an increase of 7.7% over 2007.
 
The U.S. Department of Energy will be providing nearly $158 million in federal stimulus money to Western New York. Business First reports the funds will be spread over three years and will be used to weatherize over 45,000 local homes.
 
Western New York Federal Credit Union has broken ground on its new building on Union Road in West Seneca.
