NHL releases proposal details

TORONTO - The NHL has released details of its attempted season-saving collective bargaining proposal to the public.

In an unprecedented move, the league has published the documents it handed over to the NHL Players' Association on Tuesday.

The first document is the 10-point offer and the second includes a detailed explanation of the proposal. Both documents are published in full on the league's website.

The offer is a six-year deal, with a mutual option for a seventh, that includes a 50-50 split in revenue and would see a condensed 82-game schedule start on Nov. 2.

It also includes a provision to ensure players receive all of the money they've been promised on existing contracts.

The NHLPA is expected to offer a response to the proposal when the sides meet again on Thursday.
