His name is "Vegas" Dave Oancea (of course) and he started his career as a professional gambler by taking out a $10,000 student loan, going straight to Vegas, and putting it all on red. This is not a great "go to college" story to tell the youth of America.
Dave says, "It hit, and I turned the 10 grand into 20. I quit school the next day. Vegas loves losers but hates winners."
In 2015, he won $2.5 million after betting $140,000 on the Kansas City Royals to win the World Series - He placed his bet a week into the season.
His World Series pick this year was the Texas Rangers. They obviously won't win it but don't cry for Dave, he won a million bucks on a $300,000 bet that they would win their division.
Kanye West is threatening to boycott the Grammy Awards. Why? Well, there are two reasons really.
First there's Kanye's reason: He is disappointed that Frank Ocean wasn't nominated. The reason he wasn't nominated is because his music wasn't released in time (which means it would be eligible next year).
The second reason he's threatening to boycott is probably more realistic - Every time he does something like this he gets tons of press. Yes I realize this blog contributes to that. :)
Chrissy Teigen was mom-shamed this week when she was snapped holding her baby in an awkward way. She recently switched her Twitter account to private after experiencing too much negativity, and this is a good example.
This is the reason you shouldn't turn your nose up at real books...
Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is crazy busy traveling from city to city for the press tour for his new book (A Life in Parts). Being the amazing dude that he is, he took some time out to write a love letter to a fan.
At the Dallas Love Field airport, he bought his own book, signed it and then put it back on the shelf.
Prince's music vaults are easily one of the world's greatest musical archives, and now we get a peek inside. According to legend, there is enough Prince music in there to "produce music for 100 years." Prince would often record everything, includung fully produced music videos, and then away they would go - into the vault.
Following his drug overdose, we didn't know what was going to happen to all of that material, but NPG Records and Warner Bros. announced that unreleased Prince music is on the way. One is a greatest hits compilation Prince 4Ever, which will contain the new "Moonbeam Levels." The second album will be a deluxe edition of Purple Rain, reportedly planned with Prince's input, with a whole second disc of new material.
