Cheektowaga, NY (WBEN) Cheektowaga Police are looking into an overnight fatal accident where a pedestrian was struck.

Police say 54 year old Robert Kowalewski, Jr. was crossing Union near George Urban Boulevard when he was struck by a southbound SUV around 1:30 this morning.

Kowalewski was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital where he later died.

Police say the accident remains under investigation, but don't believe alcohol was a factor. No charges have been filed.
