West Seneca, NY (WBEN) The flood waters have receded, but the damage remains in West Seneca's Lexington Green neighborhood, and Monday Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz surveyed the damage.
"70 homes have been devastated, as the waters came into the first floors of the homes. Cars were moved around," says Poloncarz, who will now ask for state help. "I put in a call to Governor Cuomo to see what additional assistance is available. Many have home insurance but do not have flood insurance, especially seniors, who no longer have a mortgage."
Poloncarz says the cost will be in the tens of thousands of dollars. "Some of these homes will be inhabitable for some time," notes Poloncarz.
