Okay, so this is proof of a legal system out of control.
A Yankees fan – well, that’s a very loose use of the word, given the video below – is suing ESPN for showing a shot of him sleeping quite soundly during a Yankees/ Red Sox game in New York back in April.
The fast-asleep fan says that he was defamed and suffered intentionally-inflicted emotional distress when the cameras and announcers singled him out. He’s alleging an “unending verbal crusade against the napping plaintiff.” Plus, he says his reputation was damaged. The price tag: $10 million.
If anything, he should be suing the Yankees and Red Sox for putting him to sleep.
