Sabres call up Enroth

Buffalo, NY (WGR 550)  -- The Buffalo Sabres have called up Jhonas Enroth for tonight's game against the New York Islanders.  Patrick Lalime suffered a groin injury in Monday's practice and is day to day. Lindy Ruff said the injury is not related to his two off season surgeries.

Enroth has played 10 of the last 12 games for Portland, but the results have been less than spectacular.  The Pirates are giving up more goals than any team in the AHL, with Enroth's save percentage at .872 and his GAA at 3.90. Ruff talked about his play, "He struggled the first part, but the last few games he's played well so if he's going to be here for any length of time, he's going to have to play."

Paul Gaustad and Pat Kaleta are back into the line up after missing time with the flu. That scratches are Adam Mair and Nathan Paetsch as well as the injured Toni Lydman. As far as the flu bug running through the team Ruff said, "We're well on our way to feeling better. We've have a couple guys who haven't practiced a lot, but from a health sense, we're doing a lot better." Everybody knows Gaustad is a gamer and will be around if he can be. The big centerman said, "It was pretty rough, but it was also for the team, you don't want to get anybody else sick either. It's tough to sit and watch the guys play but I'm excited to get back." Gaustad wouldn't confirm he had Swine Flu, but did say he was never in any danger.

Martin Biron is likely to be in goal. He shut out his former team last Saturday and since being traded he's gone 7-2-1 with a 2.89 goals against and .915 save percentage vs Buffalo. He's also had two shutouts. This season Biron's only win has come against the Sabres. He's 1-3-2 with a 2.92 goals against and .911 save percentage. On the other end Dwayne Roloson's only regulation loss came in Buffalo.

The Isles have been red hot winning four straight games. They have picked up points in each of their last six games. During that time penalty killing has been key for New York killing off 18 of 20 penalties. Overall, the Isles are 10th in the league.
