Tax Bills Going Out

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) You know it's January when you have a sea of additional bills. One of them is the annual property tax bill for Erie County.

The taxes are not going up in Erie County, but not necessarily the case for suburbs. "For the various towns in Erie County, we have seen relatively smaller increases in the tax levy, and in other communities, some small reductions, but nothing drastic either way," says Joe Maciejewski, Director of Real Property Tax Services for Erie County.

Maciejewski acknowledges being able to pay for the bill all at once can be tough, so options are available. "There are partial payments municipalities are allowed to take, 50 percent in most cases," says Maciejewski. "In the county, including the district of the city of Buffalo, we can accept a partial payment in any amount."

He does note one item not negotiable: the bill must be paid in full by February 15th to avoid interest charges.

Here's to a prosperous 2013.
Look at today's poll, good grief. This is the result of a nonstop rightwing propaganda initiative preaching gloom and doom to the credulous. Turn off the Little Mullet and the Limbaugh, people.
