This Could Have Been A Buffalo Thing

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) -- The first theatrical trailer for Draft Day has been released.

This was supposed to be all about the Buffalo Bills, but just before the film went into production, the setting was switched to Cleveland. (At least they went with a blue-and-red motif for the movie's title.)

In February, Director Ivan Reitman had toured Ralph Wilson Stadium and other local sites with a location scout. But the studio reportedly was lured to Cleveland by incentives that saved the production millions of dollars.

Here is the description provided by entertainment blog Deadline Hollywood:

"As the NFL regular season heads into its final week, Summit has suited up the first trailer for its football flick. Kevin Costner stars in Draft Day as the employment-imperiled general manager of the Cleveland Browns, who tries to wheel and deal his way into the hearts of the team’s fans, new coach and owner. Jennifer Garner, Frank Langella and Denis Leary also star in the pic directed by Ivan Reitman from Rajiv Joseph & Scott Rothman’s script. Draft Day takes the field April 11."
