State police say a van carrying 10 people rear-ended a parked Thruway Authority dump truck killing three people in the van and injuring the other seven along with a highway worker.
Troopers say the vehicle drifted off the highway and hit the back of the truck around 7:45 a.m. Thursday as it was parked in the median of Interstate 90 in Brant.

"What we've been able to observe is that this is consistent with driver fatigue," says Captain Daniel Montijo.
The driver of the minivan has been identified as 27 year old Luis Arroyo. He died in the crash along with one month old Luis Arroyo Jr. 29 year old Christieann Gonzalez died at Lakeshore Hospital. Another passenger, 24 year old Jessica Gonzalez, was taken to ECMC.
Six children were flown to Women and Children's Hospital: 13 year old Alexandra Rodriguez, thee year old Jaiden Gonzalez, six year old Adrianna Arroyo, and eight year old Yamaris Rodriguez are in critical condition. 10 year old Alexis Rodriguez and two year old Jaicob Gonzalez are in stable condition.
The closed stretch reopened around noon.
