Buffalo, NY (WBEN Newsroom) -- More state construction projects will be getting a boost from federal stimulus money. Among the work covered by the stimulus funds is the replacement of ramp bridges at the I-190/I-290 interchange in Tonawanda. Once started, it’s estimated that the bridge work would be completed in the fall of 2011. Business First points out that once projects are certified, they are put out to bid, with contracts awarded within the next 45 days. The region encompassing Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties is expected to get $75 million for road construction or road improvement.
Buffalo Seminary is doing some renovation work. The $500,000 project involves the creation of a new state-of-the-art facility featuring on-site squash courts and an extensive fitness center. The project is expected to be completed by this fall.
