Buffalo, NY (WBEN Newsroom) -- A quarterly report from the New York State Taxation and Finance Department shows Western New York sales tax revenues are lagging behind last year’s pace by $23.2 million. Erie County accounted for over 70% of all sales tax collected in the area. As a direct result, Erie County is off by the most - 4% - or nearly $20 million - for the period.
The Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors says home sales in the area were off by 4% in September. Housing prices for the same time frame were actually up 4%.
Business First reports the Lofts @ 136 – a downtown Buffalo apartment complex, will be home to a Wilson Farms store. The apartments are on Oak Street near ECC City campus.
For its third quarter, KeyCorp suffered a net loss of $48 million, or ten cents per share.
