"We consider ourselves the neighborhood grocery store," said Ken Gaytan, the Manager, or "Captain" of the new store.
"When you walk through a Trader Joe's, you'll really notice right away that a lot of items are under the private label. Ninety percent of our products are under the Trader Joe's label, and with that our products are free of artificial colors, preservatives, and flavors. We really try to provide our customers a very good, good quality product at a great value."
Gaytan says that the grand opening event, which begins at 8:00 AM will include the Sweet Home Middle School band as well as a steel drum band.
"The community has been wonderful. The city of Amherst and the surrounding communities have been really wonderful with us and have embraced Trader Joe's."
"Every single day we get customers coming in thinking we're open, or people who come and just want to take pictures or talk to us. We really feel that buzz all around," Gaytan adds.
