Buffalo, NY (WBEN Newsroom) -- The Tonawanda engine plant and Delphi Thermal Systems have begun their summer shutdowns. Both factories anticipate gearing back up in mid-July. The Woodlawn stamping plant’s shutdown begins August 10th.
The New York Power Authority announced it plans to seek approval for a contract of up to $7.5 million for the installation of a 1.1 megawatt solar photovoltaic system at UB. Under the proposal, construction of the system would be done by Williamsville’s Solar Liberty.
Local developer Carl Paladino has paid a reported $75,000 for the former St. Valentine’s Roman Catholic Church on Seneca Street. Business First says Paladino is considering a number of development options for the property.
The Buffalo Transportation/Pierce Arrow Museum has been granted $3.3 million from the Empire State Development Corporation. Those funds will be used to expand the complex.
Yogen Früz, the international frozen yogurt chain, is coming to Buffalo. A total of 15 stores are planned for the area over the next five years. The first two will open in the Eastern Hills and Boulevard Malls in the next two months.
