WNY Native Dies While Saving His Dog



(WBEN) - A Buffalo native has died while boating in a creek in Pinellas County, Florida.

According to WPTV in Florida, Police deputies said John Patti jumped in to the water of the murky creek he was boating in, trying to save his dog who did the same minutes earlier.

Patti jumped in after the dog, saved the dog, then went back underwater and disappeared.

Police searched the area throughout the night on Saturday, before a citizen spotted his floating body Sunday morning.

Patti was 70 years old.
