Buffalo, NY (WBEN Newsroom) -- Job seekers are seeing increased competition, according to new statistics out from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In April, there were 5.4 candidates for each employment opening. That figure is up slightly from March. The state unemployment rate for April was 7.7%. The Buffalo area rate was 8.5%.
The building at 300 Main Street in downtown Buffalo is for sale for a reported $850,000. At the site are a law firm, Subway outlet and another restaurant.
