Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Goo Goo Dolls Concert

Kansas City, MO (WBEN) The Westboro Baptist Church, known for protesting at servicemen's funerals, plans to boycott a Goo Goo Dolls show in its region next week. The church says it's because of where the band is from.

The press release (WARNING: offensive language in the link) bills the Goos from "filthy Buffalo, NY, where they love perversion of every kind, viciously treated the servants of God at WBC when they came in faithful warning, and lifted up their collective middle finger to God Almighty," legalizing gay marriage.

Referring to them as the "Goo Goo Goofballs," the church goes on to say the band members "think they can do a little garden variety charity work and erase the violence they have done to their fellow man by teaching and enabling sin for the past 30 years.

That concert is set for next Friday at Kansas City's Starlight Theater.
