Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Whether it was this week's blizzard or any other circumstance that cancels your flight, there are a couple of things you should do before anything else according to one travel expert.
"First thing I do is go to the airport," says Marty DeSanto of DeSanto Travel. "The agents there have more flexibility especially now where AirTran and Southwest own each other can help you go from one carrier to the other through code share." He says hotels have been helpful in this week's storm. "The hotels have been nice rolling over reservations for free, and airlines have been showing goodwill waiving many fees," says DeSanto.
He cautions against doing anything online when a flight is canceled. "I had a lot of people try to do that online and inadvertently end up getting their return portion of their trip canceled," explains DeSanto
