Winter Storm WATCH Midweek



Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A storm system moving across the great lakes will bring a pre-Thanksgiving Day storm that could leave some significant snowfall and include mixed precipitation.  A Winter Storm WATCH is posted for the region late Tuesday through Wednesday.

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING
THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...

* LOCATIONS...NIAGARA FRONTIER...GENESEE VALLEY...WESTERN FINGER
  LAKES..AND THE COUNTIES ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE OF LAKE ONTARIO.

* TIMING...EARLY TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* HAZARDS...HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLY MIXED WITH SLEET AND FREEZING
  RAIN AT TIMES ESPECIALLY FROM THE GENESEE VALLEY EASTWARD.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW POTENTIALLY ACCUMULATING 6 INCHES OR MORE.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT AT TIMES WITH SNOW COVERED
  ROADS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY. SNOW COULD ALSO DISRUPT EARLY
  HOLIDAY TRAVEL TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

* FORECASTER CONFIDENCE...THERE REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH
  RESPECT TO THE TRACK OF THE LOW AND PRECIPITATION AMOUNT AND
  TYPE. JUST A SMALL CHANGE IN THE TRACK OF THE LOW COULD
  GREATLY REDUCE EXPECTED ACCUMULATIONS.
