Flood Watch for WNY through Tuesday
Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Flooding is a concern across Western New York with significant rainfall moving through the region. A Flood Wacth is posted with up to 1.5 inches of rain forecast.
FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...
The Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of western New York...including the following
counties...Allegany...Cattaraugus...Chautauqua...Genesee...
Livingston...Monroe...Niagara...Northern Erie...Orleans...
Southern Erie and Wyoming.
* Through Tuesday afternoon.
* 1 to 1.5 inches of rain is expected through today. Warmer
temperatures during this time will also melt any ice left on the
ground which will runoff into area creeks and rivers.
* This may result in minor river and creek flooding in a few
locations.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be
alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop.
