Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Ellicott Development and Sinatra & Company wasted no time in acquiring the former Women and Children’s Hospital. The deal was made official yesterday.

The transfer has been on the table for several months now, and during move-week last week Kaleida officials indicated it was just a matter of process before the old campus would get new owners. Kaleida and Oishei Children's Hospital will have access to the buildings while they continue remove all of their stuff.

Ellicott and Sinatra plan to redevelop the former Women and Children’s Hospital campus into a community-based, residential property with added commercial space. One of the primary goals is to create apartments, condominiums and other living spaces at market-prices.  Other possible uses include a hotel and grocery store.

The developers will include the Kaleida assembled Project Advisory Committee, neighbor and community stakeholders, along with other interested individuals and officials representing various community interests in their planning.

Initial estimates call for a $90 million to $110 million investment with a three to four year development timeline.

Further plans will be unveiled sometime in early 2018.
