West Seneca, NY (WBEN) The governor is on the clock. Two local lawmakers say the bill to keep the Children's Psychiatric Center open is now on Governor Cuomo's desk.

Assemblyman Mickey Kearns and State Senator Patrick Gallivan say Cuomo has ten days to sign the bill into law. If Cuomo vetoes the bill, they say they'll be ready. "We will be in touch with our leadership to call back our lawmakers to return to session to override the veto," says Gallivan.

Kearns has been challenging the veto with a petition containing 16,000 signatures. "I'm hopeful children will have that same type of opportunity and stay in the Children's Psychiatric Center in West Seneca. If the governor vetoes, I am prepared to join the lawsuit with the advocates and continue this fight, but I'm hopeful he'll do the right thing," Kearns says.
