The U.S. Small Business Administration continues to hire customer service representatives in Buffalo to handle calls from those affected by a string of destructive hurricanes.  Business First notes the agency plans to hire a total of 195 workers to answer calls from homeowners, renters, business owners and nonprofit organizations that need financial assistance to recover from the hurricanes.

Buffalo Solar Solutions Inc., the successful solar energy startup that opened in South Buffalo in 2015, is expanding into the Southern Tier with the opening of a second location.  The new office will be located at 13 West Main St. in Cuba, NY.

Hilbert College reports its incoming freshmen class for the Fall 2017 semester is the college’s largest in the last four years.  Compared to last year’s incoming freshmen, Hilbert’s first-time freshmen enrollment is up 15%.  
   UB reports freshman enrollment set a record this year of 4,045.  The total enrollment is now well over 30,000.

The Boulevard Mall hosts the 6th annual Buffalo’s Best Food Truck Event Saturday, September 23rd from 11:30am-4pm in the Mall’s parking lot.  Visitors are asked to cast their vote for their favorite Food Truck and bring non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Western New York.  All visitors voting will be eligible to win a $100 mall gift card.
