Domenic V Cortese - Bio





Domenic is the President of Cortese Brothers Construction Company located in Depew, New York, specializing in residential renovations, additions, kitchens and baths as well as handyman services. The business, founded by Domenic’s dad and uncle in 1951, recently celebrated its 60th year in business. Cortese Brothers completed $2.75 million dollars in residential renovation projects last year.
 
Cortese Brothers Construction won design awards in 1997 for the best kitchen and bath in the United States by Better Homes and Garden Magazine. It was the first time in the magazine’s history that a kitchen and a bath in the same house both won first place.
 
Domenic is best known for his radio call-in show on WBEN 930 AM, The Home Improvement Hour. His radio show has been on the air since April 1989 and can be heard each Saturday morning at 10:00am.
 
Domenic is graduated from Canisius College ’78 with a BA in Political Science and International Relations. He is a past-president of the Alumni Association.
 
Domenic also has completed the Center for Entrepreneurial program from the University Of Buffalo School Of Management (2006).
 
Domenic is a Leadership Buffalo graduate (’92), a Forty Under Forty recipient (’96) and lives in Clarence, NY where he is active in the Clarence Rotary Club where he has served as club president and as a District Assistant Governor. He presently is a mentor for a seventh grader at the Clarence Middle School mentoring program through Clarence Rotary. He is also a board member for the Brothers of Mercy Foundation Board and is active in his parish, Our Lady of Peace, where he has served as Parish Council President. He and his wife, Diane along with his three children, Philip, 29, Nicholas, 27 and Michelle, 23 were honored as the Rotary Family of the Year (2001). Domenic was named Clarence Rotarian of the Year for 2007.Domenic and Diane where also honored in January 2003 by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce as their Citizens of the Year, and last year as family of the year from the National Conference of Just Communities.
