Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Buffalo Homicide Squad detectives have arrested and charged a man in
connection with the assault of his eight week old son. 

Investigators were called to Women and Children's Hospital, regarding internal injuries sustained by the boy, around 2:30am.  The infant had been brought to the hospital by his father, Mark Bridenbaker, 22 years old, of Indian Church Road, Buffalo.  The baby is currently in critical condition at the hospital.

The father was questioned by homicide detectives, and was booked late this morning on charges of Reckless Assault of a Child as well as Assault in the First Degree, according to Dennis J. Richards, chief of detectives. The baby boy was being treated for a head injury at the hospital.  "There were indications that the child suffered physical injuries previously," Richards said.
