The accident occurred on West Woodside Ave. near Hopkins Street and South Park Ave, at approximately 8 am Thursday morning.

School district spokesperson Elena Cala tells WBEN that the remaining students were calm, and taken to school at Lorraine Academy via a second bus. Parents were being notified near 9 this morning.

Cala says police will be looking at pile of stones in the road near the crash site before determining what may have caused the crash. Sunlight in the driver's eyes or a possible medical isue are also being consdered she says.

One person in the house was not injured, Cala says, but a substantial part of the front of the dwelling was caved in by the bus, she says.

Police say the contractor for this sidewalk project is Master's Edge. As per the contract with the city, the contract prohibits dumping or storing gravel on a city right of way. Police say the contractor is responsible for damages incurred as a result of the accident.
