National Weather Service meteorologist David Thomas says temperatures are expected to flirt with 90, which would break the record for this date set in 1987, when the mercurty hit 86 degrees. The heat index should exceed 90.
"For outside today, drink plenty of water and take things slowly," advises Thomas. "If possible, have outdoor activities earlier in the day or later in the day and stay indoors where it's air conditioned during the peak hours of the heating day."
If you're worried about rain, Thomas says you have little to worry about, as the chances are expected to be very low.
An air quality alert will be in effect from 1pm to 1am, affecting those who have respiratory issues.
