"We sure remember here," said Corasanti's friend and defense attorney, Tom Burton, "there were no winners tonight."
Burton speaking very briefly after the jury announced it's plea. His co-counsel, Joel Daniels, spoke briefly as well, as an elevator door tried to close on him. "When they looked at all the evidence carefully," he said, "the jury came up with the right result."
With the criminal case over, Burton says Corasanti can now say what he's wanted to all along.
"We now have an opportunity on behalf of the doctor to extend condolences to the young lady who died, Miss Rice; no one is leaving here with any great joy."
About Corasnti's medical license, Daniels says they'll work to keep it. He says that they'll do all that they can to see that he's able to continue "to practice and help the community."
As Corasanti broke down in tears after the verdict was read., Burton says that Corasanti hugged him, and thanked him for being a friend.
