Disbarred Attorney Admits to Continuing Practice

Buffalo, NY (WBEN/AP) A former lawyer and Erie County lawmaker has pleaded guilty to continuing to practice law after being disbarred.

49-year-old David Dale pleaded guilty Tuesday in state Supreme Court to two charges: felony scheme to defraud and practicing law after disbarment.

He faces up to four years in prison when he's sentenced in August.

Authorities say Dale, who once served in the Erie County Legislature, was disbarred in 2005 for mishandling an estate in Surrogate's Court and then lying about it. But they say he continued to maintain a law office in Buffalo, providing services and accepting fees.
