The 32nd annual JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge is set for 6:45 tonight in Delaware Park. It's a road race covering more than three miles with an after party that has evolved into a massive business mixer for almost every company in greater Buffalo. Approximately 450 local companies will participate this year with hospitality tents set up in the park.

Proceeds benefit the American Red Cross of Greater Buffalo. Tops Friendly Markets has nearly 640 employees taking part -- more than any other local company. Tops CEO Frank Curci says the road race fits in with a theme his company's been promoting. "As a company, we've been promoting healthy lifestyles, making good food choices, and things that a food company should be doing," Curci says. |
Other companies taking part include the Buffalo School District, Kaleida Health, Catholic Health, First Niagara Bank, Ingram Micro, and Wegmans. In its 32nd year in Buffalo, The Chase Corporate Challenge is a road race that has evolved into one of the region's largest corporate networking mixers, as various employer teams running in the event host hospitality tents that have in recent years eclipsed the race itself. This year over 13,000 runners will take part in the 3.5 mile race, with 388 companies represented. Buffalo police remind you to lock your car and not to leave valuables of any kind visible in your vehicle. That includes electronics, money, purses, wallets, etc. Your advised to put those items in a trunk or other safe places BEFORE arriving. |
No parking is permitted on the grass areas in and around Delaware Park. No parking is permitted at Medaille College. Illegally parked cars will be ticketed and towed
