The end of the year will be the end of a 116 year run for Fort Erie Race Track. Business First reports the track faces a $6 million budget shortfall from the April closing of the on-site slot operations. Live racing ends in October, but off track betting will go on until December 31st. The move impacts 2,000 employees.
Alabama-based Brasfield & Gorrie LLC will be installing new energy-efficient LED signs along the Peace Bridge and Lewiston-Queenston bridge plazas. The company has a $2 million contract for the work to be completed by October.

The Dent Neurologic Institute has purchased an Aquilion One, 320-slice CT scanner. The scanner is the first of its kind in an outpatient facility in the entire country.
