The 49 year old Jorden was an Army officer, who may have special weapons training, as well as a medical doctor and trauma surgeon.
Several of his patients and hospital co-workers have called WBEN to say such an act would seem out of character for the person they knew.
A nurse called WBEN to say that on his first day, Dr. Jorden was a calming influence, chatting and laughing with everyone while wearing cowboy boots as he made his rounds.
Debbie called from Grand Island to say that Jordin had performed 3 surgeries on her and her family. "I have never seen a surgeon like this who cared about his patients. He would give you his personal cell phone number, so that if you ever had a problem and couldn't get a nurse, you could get to him directly. What doctor does that?"
"I am totally freaked out," Mike told Tom Bauerle. The caller was operated on by Jordin on Monday. He called to schedule a follow up appointment the morning of the shooting, and now understands why there was no answer. "I'm shaking."
At this hour, Police continue to look for Timothy Jordin as a person of interest in the shooting at ECMC this morning.
