Buffalo's housing stock is the oldest in the country, according to a report in On Numbers, the online service of American City Business Journals. 71% of the homes in Buffalo were built in or before 1969; fewer than 2% of the city's homes were built since 2005.

Lackawanna's Fire Department will receive a $458,000 grant to be used toward the hiring of four new firefighters. Senator Charles Schumer's office also announced a $650,000 grant to create the first federally qualified health center in Chautauqua County.

Sahlen's hot dogs will be featured at a Charlotte, North Carolina eatery. A former Buffalo businessman is opening JJ's Red Hots there early next month.

Applied Sciences Group has been contracted to develop an Android app for New Era's Derby manufacturing plant. The app would provide real-time maintenance alerts for 400 workstations.
