Good economic news for Western New York. On Friday, the GM Powertrain plant in Tonawanda began working on two new engine lines. The new 2.5-liter four-cylinder EcoTech engine is will begin being produced for the 2013 Malibu and Cadillac ATS" vehicles. According to GM Plant Manager Steve Finch, the company invested over 450 million dollars in the new production lines. The plant is expected to add a shift in August, and hire hundreds more workers.
