New school superintendent discusses priorities

Buffalo (WBEN) -- The next superintendent of the Buffalo Schools discussed her initial priorities during a news conference Monday afternoon.

Dr. Pamela Brown says her first priority is to get out into the Buffalo community and meet as many of the stakeholders as she can, and begin developing a positive rapport with everyone.

"And that includes parents, the community at large, staff; already had the opportunity to visit a few schools.  I definitely want to visit more and will do so," Brown says.

And when asked if she has any plans to make any changes to the district's central office staff, Brown simply said, "I have not made any decisions along those lines."

Brown also noted she hasn't really had time to think about it at this point.  Brown says she does plan to live in the city -- and the search for a home is underway.

The Buffalo School Board voted 7-2 on June 13 to offer Brown a contract as the next superintendent of the Buffalo Schools.

Poll
How do you feel about allowing school districts a second vote on their budget plan?
As long as it's a different plan it's ok.
I'm ok with a 2nd vote for the same or a different plan.
  One vote and done!
