Batavia, NY (WBEN) -- The woman at the center of a probe into the Wyoming County SPCA has died.
Susan Davila passed away Saturday at Wyoming County Community Hospital, according to the Batavia News.
Davila, 58, had been the shelter manager when the facility was raided in February. In the days that followed, a total of 518 cats were discovered in the structure.
She was facing a court hearing this week on a charge of animal cruelty. Davila always maintained that she was a scapegoat, and was blamed for the failure of others.
