Blackstone Group, an international real estate conglomerate, gobbled up forty-seven properties in twenty states in a $1.43 billion deal. Blackstone acquired six suburban Buffalo plazas from Developers Diversified Realty for $94 million as part of that deal. Business First reports the properties involved are the Premier Place Plaza and Jo-Ann Plaza on Transit Road, Union Consumer Square in Cheektowaga, Walden Place and Walden Consumer Square on Walden Avenue and a former Borders store on Walden.

American Power Partners LLC has acquired the equity of U.S. Energy Partners LLC for an undisclosed price. The company serves customers in New York and Pennsylvania.

Work on forty-nine townhouses in Buffalo's Fruit Belt section will begin this September. The $16 million project is spearheaded by the St. John Fruit Belt Community Development Corporation.

Allegiant Airlines reports passenger traffic at Niagara Falls International Airport has increased by 15.1% for the second quarter of 2012, compared to the same period last year.
